my male has his nest ready but im not sure is it the or the 2 black lines sh has both but i wanna make sure

Are you talking about the vertical bars on the female? Yes, those would be good signs that she is gravid.

yeah sorry the missing part is the little white straw thing near her anal fins is that a sign to?

DLT, I cannot find that (the straw thing) in any of my Betta books, but keep an eye on it, and, if you see that only around spawning time for your bettas, it may be something important that should be added to the books...and that would be a feather in your cap, my friend!

you'll know when spawning has taken place. the male will be constantly adding bubbles to the nest, and picking up eggs that have fallen out, and the female will be pratically unconsious near the bottom. it is highly suggested you remove her at that point so that she can recover, and remove the male when the fry are free swimming.
