I know overkill - but I had the two tanks -- my 5 gal qt and the 10g. I put all the fishy in one tank and broke down the 5 gallon yesterday.

I didn't want to loose the good bacteria in the 5 g filter so I put this filter also on the 10g - then when I get my 25/30g I will move one of these filters over with the new filter for 25.

As long as the current is fine (which it is), there are no unforeseen problems with having 2 filters - topfin - on a small 10g??

I now have 3 male guppies and 4 false Julii cory in one 10g tank. I am fully stocked?? Yes?

I feel like I have the guppies at the top and cories at the bottom and no one in the middle!! :dive2:

That shouldent be a prollem. Just means more water filtered per hour!

I was told that you can throw a filter in a cycled tank so that it can develp what it needs for a new tank. So your ok.

Also, Your not over stocked. But your close. Get a dwarf groumi to put in there. There a middle level swimmer. As for the guppies are top level, corries are bottom level...so it would only fit right in :)

An extra filter never hurts so long as the fish can take the current. I've always kept an extra small internal filter in my oldest tank, just in case I needed to cycle another tank fast!

As for your stocking, I would call that "extremely close" to fully stocked.
