Major problem with ram!!!!

My german ram has a very bulbus ... thing growing on its head! i have no idea what it could be. One of my neon tetras has a similar coloered ball near his tail. On the ram it looks like on cartoons when they get hit by a hammer and the lump just keepes getting bigger! please help and thanks in advance. :help:
 
Do you have a picture? That would probably help out a ton with diagnosis. Other than that can you please post the following:

Water parameters? (ammonia/nitrite/nitrate/ph)
Tank size?
Other tank mates?
How long has the tank been set up?
Any recent additions?
What is your water change schedule like?
 
ummm 29g. all of my levels have been the same for months now. the tank has had fish in it 4 and a half months and with cycleing, a little over 5 months ill get a pic very soon and post it
 
Sorry to be a pain but we need actual numbers for your water params, they are fine doesn't work ;) Also how often do you do water changes?

pH= 7.8
nitrate= 5
nitrite= 0
