I don't see why it would be a problem. Be sure to get a good coat where the new meets the old. I have never done this before so don't take my word as law.

Im in the process of resealing a 110 and im not sure about it but i have seen people say that new silicone will not seal to the old silicone, so i have stripped all of mine out and starting fresh.

I stripped my problem seam with razor; scraped everything off. Rubbed alcohol on whole area, wiped & let dry. Then silicone with aquarium silicone, run finger over bead on inside seam. Did the outside too, when that dried, used razor to cut out excess. Let dry 24 hrs (I let it dry a few days) before filling with water to sit in garage for a week. No leaks. Now it's all set up with fish for a few months already. Still doing great.
New and old silicone do not mix. You may get a seal initially but is it worth having a leak a year down the road. I would go with a complete redo.
As stated already do the whole tank. Silicone sticks very good to clean glass, but not to cured silicone.

I agree reseal the whole thing.I did a few partials years ago and they always leaked after a while.Since returning to fishkeeping Ive resealed 20+ tanks and no leakers. It says right on the silicone itdoesnt stick to old silicone very well.
