My boyfriend and I have 2 freshwater tanks ,a 10 gallon and a 20 gallon. The water in both tanks is a light green color. Is there an easy way to solve this problem?

a UV filter will take care of it in about 2 days. you can rent one from most LFS fo cheap

A cheaper way to solve this is to replace the mechanical media in the filter, make sure it is working correctly, and do a 50% water change and vacuum the gravel thouroughly. It should clear up in about 24 hours.

i have never had any luck doing that, even twice a month. i trie d erythromycin and it worked for a few days. the UV fixed it permanently

You are supposed to change 25% of the water weekly and vacuum at least once a month.

I would say that you are fine with your maintenance, but alot of people do maintennce monthly or yearly and have an overstocked tank with no plants and an ugf. :D

it all really depends on bio filtration
