The pond with some Triops
I just washed my hands (soap and water). I'm REALLY freaked out with stuff on my hand. I keep thinking "oh my gosh, i just used soap and chlorine water..." or if I didn't wash hands "oh my gosh, dirty stuff from my hand is going to get into the water, create ammonia (maybe) and kill my fish....".
What do I do? Is there some kind of wipe out there that I can use?
Or do I just wash my hands again but with distilled water to take out dirt/soap?

I just got a x-large plant at my LFS and I wanted to use a different design (in other words, redo my tank)...
but how can I move stuff without getting so freaked out?

Just run your hands under the tap to be sure all the soap is washed off. Then dry your hands on a paper towel and you should be fine to dive into the tank. Any chlorine left on your hands from the tap should really be minimal and not do anything to the tank.

At least you washed your hands first! Half the time I just throw my arm in the tank when I walk by and see something that needs adjusting!

wait...
i thought even a bit of chlorine would kill.....
man, i'm still scared of that part (too much chlorine on my hand)... yeah remember, i'm the neon with a lot of questions and I get freaked easily!

Just wash your hands with soap and water. Rinse very well. If you think you still have soap on your hands rinsing them in hot water or as warm as you can stand it wil remove the soap better than cooler water. You can also consider using gloves when you work in the tank.

first filter your water through a reverse osmosis machine into a bucket, then apply the approporiate amount of dechlorinator. Finally soak both hands into the bucket as far down as possible for 30 minutes, then you will be ready to use your hands in the fish tank.

 That's sure going to up the maintenance time on my tanks...but it might deter me from futzing around needlessly between water changes...

Man, I dumped a whole bucket of straight tap water on accident into my 10g with my neons in it....and that was like a month ago and there sitll fine. Although i put water dechlorinator in right after.

reverse osmosis..?
lol

k... here's what i think it is:
1)warm water rinse
2)completely dry with paper towel (all i have)
3)umm i think thats it.

and the amount of chlorine on my hand won't kill, right?
