I recently set up my 55 Gallon long tank, and planted it heavily. I've kept the Pterophyllum scalare for years now, and I've recently have been able to access both Pterophyllum altum and Pterophyllum leopoldi, for around ten bucks each, but I do not know too much about the different types. I've herd altums are sensitive to water conditions, but I don't know too much about the Pterophyllum leopoldi, please give me your advice.
Thanks!

if you are keeping them now it will be fine to add the others. they are not TOO much different

My understanding of the leopoldi is they are easier to keep. it is not often but you will most likely see the lepoldi in the LFS over the altums
the altums may require more strict water conditions. many of the folks I know keep the Altums in species only altum tanks. as cooley stated "they are not TOO much different"

altums are more delicate and need bigger tanks, but you will find them much more easily than lepoldi, and altums look a little nicer in a school
