I have a 75 gallon tank that I am going to start up, my question is I want to know some of your opinions on what to put in there. I know I want some clown loaches and I have to get some Mickey Mouse platys (for my son) and I also like glofish. What would you suggest. I do not want anything aggressive. :D

I can't tell you about glofish, but as for Mickey Mouse Platies- these are great fish, cute to look at, and extremely peaceful. You can put them with whatever you want, but nothing too big/agressive. And clown loaches will make sure your tank never gets overrun by snails.

I don't know but, do clown loaches ever eat other fish or will the MM platy's be big enough to where they leave them alone. I plan on buying the clown loaches as babies.

IMO, you'll need 5 clown loaches, and they are going to need at least 180 gallons for all of them when they get full size. clown loaches are easily stunted, so its best to start with the biggest tank they will need.

as for the platies, if you really like mickey mouse platies, you could get ALOT of them in a 75 gallon tank.

I have a 75 that I was thinking of getting platies and mollies as well. When you say a lot, exactly how many are we talking about?

If you got clown loaches, I'm sure they would leave your platies alone, but it looks like your tank is too small to have a school of them. Might I suggest dojo loaches? They're scavengers and they have tons of personality. I have one in my community tank and I can easily say he's my favorite fish.

I am only getting 3 clown loaches and I know I may have to upgrade but they are only an inch and a half to two inches, I will upgrade before they have a chance of being stunted. I am not really a fan of MM platys, my son is the one who is dead set on getting some.

I'm not sure about the loaches..but I know some fish don't need too much time to run into issues with stunting.

you may need to upgrade pretty quick is all I'm saying.

you mentioned gold fish but I'm not sure that would work with the loaches(temp range 75-86) goldfish are coldwater.

I wouldn't get clown loaches at all... By the time they're too big for your tank, it will be a hassle to get rid of them. Save yourself trouble and don't get them at all.

I mentioned GLOfish not GOLDfish. Glofish are altered zebra danios. They should be fine with the other fish I chose.
