Liveaquaria.com says the Dwarfs do well together but I want to make sure it is ok to put males together. My LFS only has males and I did pick up a Powder Blue yesterday and would like to get some Reds today.

On a side note, there was a color there that I havent seen before, I believe it was Parrot Red, or Blood red...something like that (I forget really). I thought it wasa cool looking red, any clue what kind it is?

I know you have mentioned that before but I'm not getting rid of my Shark, especially since there hasnt been a problem with him and any of the other tank mates yet. I know I might be pushing it, but I just cant get rid of him until I at least see a problem first.

Raibow shark + dwarf gourmai = disaster waiting to happen.

It would be best to seperate them now before someone of the fishies(dwarf gourmai) gets hurt or killed.

Alright. Well I took him in today to my LFS. Didn't want to though but I figured you all know more about this then I do so I better listen right now. My LFS don't order Female Gouramis, they get what they get they told me so I'm not sure what else I'm going to put in the tank. Seems so lifeless and bare right now without my shark. Thanks for all the advice and leading me down the right path guys.

I know you didn't want to do it, but you did right getting that shark out of there. By the time you saw a a problem, it would have probably been in the form of dead Gouramis.

Did you ever find out more about the red Gouramis? I assume you were not talking about the ones they sometimes call a "Flame". I've heard about one that is suposed to be very red. I'd love to see one... It's a dwarf, right?

I went back and they didn't have anymore in stock, nor could the person help me out on what kind of Gourami it was. I went to another LFS and was able to order 6 Females so hopefully that will be good for my tank so I can add a couple males. I did in the meantime pick up 4 more Corys and 4 more Platies. I'm thinking with 10 Cory, 10 Platy, and will be looking at 9 Dwarf Gouramis I'm probably at my stocking limit for my 70g?
