I just got a feather duster the other day for my birthday. Where would be a good place to position it? On the rock or on the sand? He's near the water return and seems to be doing fine on the sand.

In the sand is not a good place. It will attach itself to you rocks. Place it somewhere it can have low to moderate water flow. I have 3 in my tank they are very cool. Don't foget to add some form of plankton once or twice a week depending on your corals needs as the feather duster is a filter feeder.

sometimes feather dusters will move on there own if they dont like the current or if a fish is picking on them, so just put em on the rocks and see where he goes
