what type of eels do well in bw, hoping to start a bw tank with scats, archers ect.

I have two Freshwater Snowflake Eels, but they require a tank minimal of 55 gallons and cannot be grouped with any fish that can fit in their mouths, or so they say. I have, with my eels, a Figure Eight Puffer, an Orange Chromide, and 2 Bumblebee Gobies. I purchased a 4 inch Columbian Shark (for reference, my eels head is comparable to a finger); the eel couldnt get his mouth around it so he bit it and dragged it into his cave, and killed it. So I also suggest fish that aren't generally bottom dwellers and fish that are strong swimmers.

In other words, if you want a Freshwater Snowflake Eel, it should be fine with the Archer but I cannot promise anything with the Scats.

but i think he wanted to know what would do good in BW

almost all true eels are sw species especially the sfe eels that are commonly captured in brachish waters are caught during the piriod that the eels go into bw to feed some also will breed in these lower salinity enviroments but do eventually return to full sw..do a search on fishindex.com and fishbase.org for more listings on enviromental species...btw scats although brackish as juveniles resort to full sw as adults i have owned a silver scat for 5 yrs now in full marine agressive tank with moray eels ect he is now 10 inches long..they are known to live aprox 2 yrs in captivity due to improper salinity levels as they grow you might want to look into doing a full blown marine tank for these species..eels and scats it realy isnt as hard as it seams as long as you dont get into keepig corals and inverts
