I use the API, mainly because it came in the master test kit.

Yes. All the time. I like to know what is going on in my tapwater before I use it and where my tanks are.

KH is calcium hardness, right? And it came in your API Master Test kit? Mine didn't. Now I think I need to go buy one.

It doesn't come in their master kit any longer...they sell it separate. My kit expires in a couple of months though, so I probably got one of the last ones sold that way. They used to not even include nitrates in the master kit. Weird.
