i have a 55 gallon and i would like to put 2 -3 pictus cats in there with some sort of SA cichlids, although i am not certain what the best combination would be.

i am most drawn to JDs and GTs but jewel cichlids might be just as interesting if it is advisable for me not to go with JDs or GTs.

any thoughts? any other cichlids that would be better with pictus cats?

JDs are central american (a bit mean), and jewels are african riverine cichlids (and mean little buggers, too). GT's get too large for your tank IMHO.

Severums, angelfish, , keyholes, blue acaras, port cichlid, any SA dwarf - all would go well with pictus cats.

i meant american cichlids. i added jewels in there because they behave more like american ones, from what i understand...

OK, I understand where you're coming from, and jewels do like water similar so SA and even CA cichlids (they have a wide territory). However, I still think my list above would be good choices. I'm sure there are others that would work, too.
