WHITBY, ONTARIO CANADA!
Hey guys quick question

When i was at the fish store on wensday getting my swartz cories i saw the zebra loaches that i had been thinking about getting before and my mom (who always comes to the fish store with me) said she thought they were cute little guys and i should get one (i did not wanna get one and my cories at the same time) so i did not get it but would now like to get one tomorrow .................... anyway my question is i have heared that they can be "GREAT COMMUNITY FISH" but i also heared that they can get "NIPPY" what would ya'll say about them

Thanks guys

Hi,

I read some were that most Botias are not good with Cories, but I don't know if its true. I heard that Zebra Loaches can be a little agressive and nippy. At another place I heard that they were very peaceful. Conflicting reports, ha! They probably will compete for food and hiding places with your Cories. They grow to about four inches. If you get them, you should get two or three, I heard they like some company.

I wish I could get the Schwartz Cories, but my petstore will never get them in!

Ya i am really having trouble finding a strait answer i guess all-in-all i am goin to have to find out for my self....and bout the swarts cories....big als has a mixed cory tank!!! 3.99 each I SAW THEM AND WENT CRAZY!

I have zebra loaches (Botia Striata I think) the two are one of my favorite fishes. They are active and very curious most of the time but will like to hide out in caves a lot too. I highly recommend that you get more then one as they are very social with there own species and will tend to be very shy with out buddies to roam around with. Mine are inseparable. They have never nipped at other fish (that I have seen) but I suspect they may have had a few Amano shrimps for lunch.
