Today I ordered a South African Pufferfish, which is supposed to be a freshwater puffer. I thought puffers were either brackish or saltwater. I also read its best to transfer a puffer from fresh to brackish as it reaches its adult age, but at the LFS they said their was no need for that. Just wanting to check if all this information is legit.
Thanks

It is legit...the S/A puffer (Colomesus asellus) lives solely in FW conditions (although, according to Puffernet, it can take light brackish) and need not be transferred to BW or Marine Water.

That's the South american puffer, NOT the south african pufferfish. It's probably the congo puffer he's getting.

I'm sorry, I meant to say South American Puffer.

Huh...I misread so many things yesterday, and that turned out to be right when I did that???
Good catch, though, cdawson!
