Anybody have a picture or schematics for a reverse flow undergravel filter for a larger tank? I am considering changing my UGF to a RUGF in my 125 gallon but I am not sure what would be the best way to get the flow I need. Right now I have 3 powerheads across the back and one airstone in each corner for my current UGF. 2 of my powerheads have reverse flow capability. Can canisters be used in these systems? Thanks!

I use UGFs..Are you sure that RUGF is better? It sounds more non conventional..

In theory it makes sense since the "gunk" is supposed to be pushed up and can be cleared by the other filters. I'm not sure it is a big improvement over a well-maintained conventional UGF. Just looking at other things...
If you are thinking of adding a canister why not get rid of the UFG altogether?
If you are planning on keeping the UGF I don't see a reason not to tie in the canister filter. I have heard of people hooking their canister up to their UGF. Just find an appropriate fitting and hook the outflow into the UGF to make it RUGF.
