Ive never kept these guys but im wondering what kind of a bioload they create. It doesnt seem like they would be all that much stress on a large system. The reason I ask is because I just got 6 of them but im thinking about geting four more to have a nice shoal of 10 maybe 12. They are in a 90 gallon with the following inhabitants.
1 Female Jack Dempsey (should only get 6-7")
1 Salvini (full grown 4 yo at 5")
1 Convict (3.5")
1 Firemouth
1 Spoted Pictus
6 brochi cats
So what do you think will another four or so really be that much added stress in the bio load? So far they dont seem like waste machines.
Oh ya filtration on the tank is
2 Aqua Clear 500's
1 Marineland Magnum 350
Planing on adding another canister at some point maybe Rena Filstar

Are they Brochis splendens or Corydoras aeneus? I've seen several stores label bronze cories and emerald brochis as "emerald green cories" and sell them in the same tank (at the same time no less). They do look very similar as young fish. There is an adult size difference between the two (I've personally seen adult brochis over 4"), and that will help you figure out if you can go with a bigger shoal.

To tell the difference look at the dorsal fin, check planetcatfish.com, the brochis have a much longer dorsal fin that cories, with more dorsal rays.

They are definately brochis splendes as they are all about 3". The LFS had them in a tank kind of hidden and said they had them for over six months now so they had grown quite big. I know they will get between 3-4" but a 4" oscar or pleco would seem to produce a lot more waste to me anyhow which is what I am trying to clarify. It doesnt apear they these guys are poop machines.

I personaly think you would be fine adding them, just check your water often to make sure, but I have never had cories that made a mess.

Awesome I suppose I will get six more then to make it 12. I got six because I wanted something to help with the clean up of my messy cichlids (not that I dont supplement them) and I wanted a nice group so I got six and instantly I love these guys. Some times there out exploreing on there own and other times they group up and swim all around the tank together. Very fascinateing fish to watch im glad I decided to get them. I never understood how people could get so hooked on cories but I understand now.
