What kind of cory??

Hello, I'm new here and am hoping someone can help me to identify one of my corys.

I dont have a pic (yet) but it was sold to me under the name 'Schwartz cory'. I have searched the net several times and can find no such fish! It's quite a pale fish with black dots (speckled on top with three rows of dots running along the length of the fish) and has a black stripe going across it's eye from the top of the head to the bottom). It's about 1.5inches long at the moment. I'll try to get a pic up soon, but if anyone can hazard any guesses on the above info, I'd be really grateful :)

Thanks!

That does sound like Corydoras schwartzi, which you may have better luck finding under 'Mrs. Schwartz's Cory'.

No problem! Where did you get it, and how much did you pay for it? I haven't seen C. schwartzi for sale in a little while, so I was wondering what the price would be with the (apparently) decreased supply.

And I see that you are in Britain, which could explain why 'Mrs. Schwartz' Cory' is available to you...take good care of it for all those of us in the States who are a little less fortunate with that fish! :)

Yes, I'm in the UK and got the cory in a shop in Edinburgh. Only cost me about 2 pounds :)

I didn't realise that they were so hard to get over in the US - is this the case in the UK too??

I'll take good care of the cute wee thing! At the moment, my corys are happy as larry! Will try to get a pic too :)
