I hate asking questions like this...
A co-worker (obviously too lazy to get online himself:mad: ) is pestering me about this stuff the lfs was encouraging him to buy b/c his nitrites were high. (I know, I give him advice, which he doesn't listen too, and that advice comes from here, but he wants to here it from others, which will come from me anyway!)
Anyway, it was one form of bacteria in a bottle (he can't remember which)and the directions stated to add "x" amount every other day (of course, he can't remember how long either! Did I mention I hate asking these type of questions?)
This sounded a little "gimmicky". Given the bacteria are alive and the tank is overstocked or under supplied with sufficient bacteria, shouldn't one dose be enough? Any thoughts? Other than get another job wise-guy!:)

Tell him to return the unopened bottle and exchange it for Bio-Spira. The manufacturer's directions to keep on adding the product are the giveaway: if the product actually works, the bacterial community establishes itself.

Tell him to read those Bio-Spira directions. Or to bring them to you, and tell him that you can read them together! Tell him you'll help him sound out the hard words!

There was a good post on the Cycle product by JSchmidt in this thread http://64.191.28.50/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7895&highlight=cycle+well+wait
specifically the 8th entry down. Perhaps info there will discourage your friend from using that product.

Well, I told him to check out Bio-Spira (he hadn't bought the other stuff yet) but didn't mention the part about reading the directions together (he would take me up on it and 8 hrs/day is enough time together!) Thanks for the quick replies!

kveeti, to post a thread as a link, did you just copy the address while at that thread and paste it in your reply? How did you get the address so compact? Here's a computer illiterate question...the address is the same as url isn't it?

Are you using a version of Internet Explorer? If so, highlight the address by clicking the e symbol on the address bar and copy it. You may paste that as a link in an e-mail.
HTH. :)

That's exactly what I did (the copy and paste). As to how it compacted, I don't know, it did that by itself. Yes, the address is the url.
