yeah.. I only have 2 weeks left for my fish in the ick treatment... anything i can do with my tank while i'm waiting? I mean, it's barely populated and i need to wait before I add more fish... more specifically, my betta... and gotta up the black neon population...

hmm... maybe 6 black neon, 6 neon, 6 zebra danios? Or how about some guppies or platies... I mean, i see guppies and platies everywhere.. what do they do? they look kinda fat...

:OT:
I heard bettas are carnivores. Can they eat my neons? I mean, it's weird. neons nip at bettas, and bettas eat neons

Bettas are meat eaters, but not typically fish eaters. I don't think you have anything to worry about with your neons.

They usually spend their time producing more guppies and platies :).

You could make a new background for your aquarium. You could plant it, rearrange the rocks and driftwood, show your cat how to fish...

But I can understand how you feel. I have also an empty aquarium standing around and have to wait for a few things until I can put fish in.

i'm sure people have said this to you before, but i'd plan on getting rid of that pleco before getting anything else.

You might want to rethink the mix of a Betta and guppies.... Some Bettas don't like other fish with flowing finnage and um, tail-age.... (I know, it isn't a word)

I've got a Betta here that does fine with Neons, but hates the little Killie we tried with him. The Killie has a flowing tail.

yeah but if i get rid of one, i'm gonna have to replace with rubberlip or something... but i cant! (ick treament)... I can take out, but not put in :(

i already changed the whole tank and I think I stressed the fish a little TOO much lol.

hmm.... so how many guppies or platies do you think i can put in?

different kinds of tetras put together get stressed, eh? but what if it's put with many kinds of non-tetras? like... zebra danios? Shoaling fish, but not tetra (true?)...

I think rasboras are better than danios for housing with other fish, because they are more laid back and not as jittery. but seriously, as soon as you can, move the pleco.

hmm let's see.....
pleco is poop factory...

what's the difference from what mystery snails and plecos eat?

and plecos don't eat fish poop lol (umm... right?)

snails are generally detritus eaters (well brigs, anyway) and plecos tend to eat algae.

I think that it would be a great time to set up a quarintine tank. Thats what I did to minimize the potential of having my main tank have to deal with an ich problem. I am quarintining all fish for at least 2 weeks in my quarintine tank. ;)

WARNING! My betta is the calmest little thing I've ever seen, but when a guppy is introduced she goes crazy. I put in a feeder; just to see if it would work. Dead in seconds. I had my prized fancy male guppy which I put in there (he's huge and his old tank was a bit crowded), and his fins were gone in seconds. (RIP Big Guy  )
