at least for me. first snow of the season today, and many, many more to come... won't see green 'till next may. you know, it doesn't get any colder up here than say, wisconsin or maine, it just stays colder 2-3 months longer. soon i'll break my back shoveling snow at 7 AM again....:(
 
you may wish that, but you don't want an alaskan winter. beleive me. it lasts forever, and is filled with nothing but snow,snow and more snow, followed by so much black ice you can't walk outside wtih out almost breaking your back.
 
Believe it or not, I am so hot natured that I would rather deal with that than the heat and humidity.
 
ah true, I almost forgot how bad it wa sin florida.... I admit i'd rather deal with this for 6 months every year than live another day in florida.
 
Question, I am not that familiar with where you live but, do you live in the part of Alaska that is dark for 6 months out of the year?
 
no, it gets light here no matter what day of the year. youre thinking of above the arctic circle.
 
it does get pretty dark, though... on the shortest day of the year, the suns only up for 3-4 hours.
