my female bettas and my wild guppies love veggies,I wanted to know if its ok to feed them apples.they also get (as treats) raw hamburger,cucumber,baby pond snails(thier own choice) and guppy fry.they seem to keep the population in check for me

i would try since there really is no harm in feeding fruits to fish. if they acutually do eat apple pieces, give it to them as a weekly treat.
just be careful not to overfeed and don't leave any waste in the tank. the simple sugars found in fruits are very accessible to bacteria and can cause an outbreak of cloudy water. you may also want to try some orange sections.
