Would you say my bio-load is full or can I still add more fish. My tank looks empty.
I have a 55gallon which Im going to switch from a hood to glass top and add enother filter. The filte I have now is a 350 Penguin Bio-wheel, I plan on adding maybe a aquaclear [any suggestions]. I have 20 some plants but still plan on adding atleast 10 more and im still waiting for my micrograss XD. I have a rock cave I made of siliconed slate. I have a flat slate in the middle of the tank with the aireation under it to break the bubbles up. and the other side of the flat slate I have bogwood. So its well broken up for the fish to escape.
I have 2 Kribs which right now I cannot tell the gender. One does look like a female with red but she is a lot darker then the other BUT s/he I think is a he since s/he does have the color to the tip of the fins. But this one is bigger then the other one. The other one is shy and gets chased by the daker one alot and really is a lot lighter from the middle line up. But it only gets chased when it get to close so really they stay on there own sides of the tank. Iv only had them about 2 weeks though, so who knows.
I also have 12 Pork chop rasbora (Rasbora espes). They get about 1 1/2inches. I will have to see how many survive if my Kribs do breed. But they stay up at the top of the tank and love to swim back and forth showing off there color. They are also a very entertaining schooler. I love to watch the stragglers racing after the school trying to catch up. But they are either on one half of the tank or the other. So only half the top of the tank's with fish at a time uless my dojo pop's up.
I also have 5 oto cats which surprisingly is how many I first bought. Not one died and here I was waiting for some to die. They are cute little pigs. I also have 3 Kuhli loaches and one "King" Dojo loach which ran the tank before the Kribs. He still it King of the tank though just not the cave. I plan on getting a few nice PVC pipes for him and the loaches. The kribs do not really bother the loaches they feast together and just basically ignore each other. Unless the loaches want thought then they just push the kribs aside, and the krib nips the dojo tail if he try's to squees into the cave with the krib inside XD. Not One of my plant has yet been uprooted by the "loach gang".
I want to know how many more fish can be added. I would like the kribs to be the largest though. I was thinking 3 more Kuhli's and some more dither fish. But I would like the dither fish 2 1/2 at most, but maybe bigger. The Pork Chops are a tanish color with orange so I would like another color. Also they must be Plant SAFE.
Can I add a few more Kuhli's?
How many more dither fish can be added?
What would be a good type of dither fish?
Or could I do like 3 different school's of fish?
I will try to get pictures one of these days. Then I can get suggetions of what would be good plants to move or add and to see if anyone can tell me what gender's the kibs are. And just to show off XD
