View Full Version : Please ID "Pinky". Pics & Movie.

Hi guys, i have a few cichlids in my tank now and am loving them completely. I have id'd, some with your help, all my fish except for one. I have looked on some forums and databases but yet am to find what it is.

I am actually thinking it may be some sort of hybrid or an albino version gone bad. :)

If you can ID him id greatly appreciate it, im sure he/she would too. :)

to me it looks like a hybird. Kind of hard to tell with the pics. There a little grainy. Did you buy it from a mixed african cichlid tank?

Yeah i got it from a "General" tank.

Ya chances are that he is a mix of two or more species of african cichlid. Im not positive but thats my guess esspecilly consdering the tank he came out of. It can be next to impossible to ever know what species the parents are

Dont know if this helps but staring at him close up...

1) his top fin is deep orange
2) his body is elongated lkike my acei
3) the dorsal and pectoral fins have a dark gray in them.
4) the specs on him are a dark gray

Could be the picture, but the pink looks like it could be a tattoo.

kcooley... i checked up on fuelliborni and unfortunately it's not. although while researching that fish i came across the Female Labeotropheus Trewevasae which i am about 99.9% convinced is "Pinky".

Thanks to all of you. But hey, anyone know the common name for the Female Labeotropheus Trewevasae? Is it Yellow Tumbi?
