So the tank I fondly refer to as the "love nest" is having yet another drama. There are two rams in there--a female gold ram and a male blue ram. The male ram has been showing off for the female, but she seems to be having none of it. She chases him off, and sometimes seeks him out to chase him.

The last couple of days I've noticed her belly getting pinker and rounder--and a white thing protruding behind her anal vent. She still doesn't like the male ram, despite his flaring his fins and looking all pretty.

So today I couldn't find her in the tank--it took a while to locate her back behind some stem plants moving around in circles on the gravel. She finally came out and her belly was sunken in a bit and even pinker with the white tube sticking out further.

This seems like spawning behavior to me--except Mr. Nero Ram is hiding on the other side of the tank. He hasn't come near Ms Teeny and her egg laying action. The two angels have come closer to her.

So has Ms Teeny decided to go it alone, or is Nero just waiting for his cue? Or am I mis-reading this and she has some sort of parasite?
