:read: I have 2 tanks. One for my betta and one for my guppies. I heard if you put them together, they fight. Is that true?

well, fancy guppies have long flowing fins and are brightly colored so are easily mistaken for a betta competitor. So they will likely get picked on, injured, or even killed.

Wonder if that's what happened to my guppies?
Had 10 at one time in my community tank, now only one...
Never have seen Phred (the original and II) hunting though...
You usually find that the more brightly coloured a guppy is, the most aggresion towards it there will be. Also the brighter the tail the more likely it is to get nipped.
Aww I wish that guppies and betta's would get along better. Together they have to potential to look amazing! Though I put the fault on the Betta! :p

RIP the Big Guy. I put my best fancy guppy in a tank with Sing-Li and within minutes his tail was gone and he had died.

In the future, it would be well advised to do a bit of research before just throwing fish together like that... This thread would be a good place to start...
