quote from a seller at aquabid on the electric catfish:
"Often used in aquariums to protect rare gems, kept by the enemies of international spies, as a form of horrendous but OK torture, in moats around the castles of tropical kingdoms, etc. So you can see they have many uses. Become a real mad scientist as seen on TV. JUST USE YOUR IMAGINATION! These are great pets for all genders, but be careful. Please dont blame me if you are stupid ok, I cant solve that with just one auction, although, you could do your own electroshock therapy with these, and who knows, you might just WIN THE NOBEL PRIZE FOR ELECTRICITY!!!"
and the auction title is "SHOCKING ELECTRIC CATFISH really exists!!! WARN"
wonder how smart you'd have to be to beleive that! LMAO!

Yeah, a lot of people really do over-hype their ebay ads. Still, the Egyptians did keep these things. How they got them from jungle Africa to North Africa is a mystery to me; and what they used them for, well, I don't have that info.
I know, you're right...putting them in a moat to keep the bad guys out...puh-leeze!

Forget the attack birds and fish...relatives on my mom's side in Korea had some monkeys that roamed their estate. A thief once threw a mattress over the wrought iron spikes that topped the wall around their property, then climbed over and onto the roof one night.
They found him cornered by the biggest male of the group the following day. The man had been clawed and bitten all over, and the monkey had torn off a thick piece of slate roofing tile and was beating the kr@p out of the burgular, who was hunched over into an upright fetal position.
That guy needed to switch professions.

The ancient Romans kept ponds full of carnivorous eels. If they didn't like somebody? Guess where the person would go. Straight in the pond. Now that's an attack fish.
