Hi, I've got a breeding pair of kribs.
I've had them about 18 months, and at the moment they are caring for their 12lt spawn, my question is, this time for some reason the male isn't interested in caring for the fry anymore, this hasn't happened before as they have always both been very protective of their fry. The female doesn't seem to be bullying him, it's like she is trying to coax him out of his cave to look after the fry with her, but he doesn't seem interested.
He is eating fine, and doesn't appearto be unhealthy, my water parameters are spot on as always, nothing new has been done to the tank in months, but he does seem a little quite, he just stays in his cave or after feeding he seemsto hide amongst the plants or behind the heater.
I'm not overly worried about him, as he seems healthy apart from this strange behaviour, but I was wondering if anyone has had this happen before?
Thanks

My male went throw the same thing. I call it breding over load after 9 frys the male didn't want anything to do with the females anymore. I pulled him and left the female with the fry for 9 weeks. Replace the male and the females went right to the male nd I had another fry in 12 days. They are still spawning every 4 days between 3 females and 1 Male.
