This is a picture of a beutiful 10" Peacock Bass that was housed in a very nice 150 gl semi-planted tank. Two others of the same species accompanied him. Also various other smallish cichlids; former convict pair, salvini pair, fossil catfish pair, jewel cichlid pair, lone pike cichlid, and a lone lima shovel nose.

Just goes to show that your eyes can be bigger than your mouth/throat/belly!

My jag did that with a feeder goldfish when she was small she couldnt spit it out but didnt go in no more it made the fish go crooked or lying down and ate it slowly but surely. It wasnt like that bass though. So did both survive???

I actually bought 2 juvi's of Peacock Bass in Ca. They were five bucks a piece and over here they are way two expensive, like twenty bucks.

Anyway after a day and a half after a put them in a temporary tank. I came back like an hour to get some frozen food and found them both dead with a whole bunch of gravel in their mouths.

Horrible! If your ever in Hemet, Ca tell the Carla's Critter shop to feed their fish!!!
