The pond with some Triops
ok... NOW I'm REALLY mad..... that fish, that puny thing. he patrolls the tank and chases ANY fish (including the pleco!!!!) and nips at them. then he patrolls the tank as if he was proud. and my other fish? They keep swimming at the tank sides as if they wanted to get 100 miles away from them! I'm sick of seeing my favorite black neons get nipped. my lfs probably won't let me return live fish. so what do i have to do to stop that bully??? put him in a bucket? I'm REALLY REALLY angry..

I can only really suggest that if you have a seperate tank, then I would put him in there. I have a dwarf puffer who does the same thing and terrorizes my black skirt tetras, gouramis and bumblebee gobies. He harmlessly swims up almost to say hello and then *NIP*. Sometimes it's funny, but sometimes not. I think it's funny when it nips at the bumblebee gobies because they turn around and nip right back. Put it in "time-out" and see if it helps at all.

bring him to the lfs and see if they'll trade for another fish of the same value

just dont euthanize it just because its been a "bad boy" lol im sure the LFS would take it

how big is he?

maybe get something like a 5 gal and keep him in there...

Try another fish store, if you have more than one near you. Most fish stores will take fish if you either give them or offer for credit. If its that bad I'd just give it to the store, not worry about getting credit or money for it.

I assume it's one of the Silver Tip Tetras because you say the pleco and black neons are being picked on. They are known to be annoying to other fish from what I've read and have been labled "bullies and fin-nippers" by some.

I'd call your LFSs and ask them if they'd be interested in taking them. I have had to do that a couple times myself and some will give you store credit while others will only take them if you're giving them away.
