Aquascaping Comp

Hey, I was just thinking, wouldn't it be cool if we had an aquascaping comp on this site? It could be judged by site users in the forums. Just a thought.

It would sorta be cool to have tank of the month too like Age of Aquariums but I don't wanna rip their ideas off them. But I do really. My morals tell me otherwise though.

So who is up for an aquascaping comp??

Don't everyone jump out of their seats at once. I don't mean let's have a comp strait away by the way. I mean lets plan on having one, perhaps in a couple of months to give people a chance of entering.?? Maybe we could create a forum for it and each entry could be a thread and people could post comments and vote on them.??? What's wrong with this idea?

Is it because people think that I am actually announcing a comp? Well, if enough people gave their interests in it by responding in this thread then mayhap I would be announcing one before long....

I agree. Cause god knows I've gotta figure out how to aquascape my DP tank. New plants...

Sounds cool… but I’d havta buy a new camera…I think you need a good SLR to take a fair picture of a good tank. I managed to break my camera trying to get a decent Pic when I replanted my high-light tank.

I dunno, maybe the mods don't like aquascaping??? But that would just be plain wierd and crazy. Who doesn't like aquascaped aquariums?

I need a new camera too. So I would be quite happy to wait a couple of months before the comp began.

Plus, my tank is pretty fresh and would look a lot better in a couple of months too.

What trepidation would there be? Nothing ventured nothing gained I say.

If the mods don't want to do it then I could host it myself. I will create a thread similar to this one directing people to a website setup behind my website. The thread here could be used to post news on the comp. The site I make would be just like a bulletin board and people could enter their tanks with a voting poll and other people could post comments. After a certain amount of time the votes would be tallied and winners announced. I don't know about prizes, but I would make a special website to honour the victors.

But really I think it would be easier to do it here as everything is already setup. I could still create a nice website for the winners if the mods wanted me to. I can help out where ever needed.
