Hey folks,
Thanks for reading, as you can tell by the title I am in need of some stocking suggestions. I am planning out my 55g tank. It will be a standard 55g moderately planted with low-light hardy plants. I would like a peaceful community tank with something inhabitating all the levels of the tank. There are no particular fish I have in mind. However, I would really like some schooling fish - I love to watch them. I tend to like small colorful fish, but I want a nice mix. Oh, and I would like it slightly understocked.

Thoughts?? Thanks so much!
Kara

I like 'em all! I just want a nice mix that looks good together, that complement each other, you know? I enjoy staring at every tank I see...all fish are cool. And I haven't has experience with many - endlers, guppies, tetras, betas...loved all of them!

congo tetras, at least 6 or 'em. beeeeautiful and flashy. THE tetras for large tanks. maybe some rainbows, a nice type of small pleco and a big school of corys, or maybe a senegal bichir. (but if you do get a bichir, make sure that you don't have any fish under 4".)

I have 6 Diamond Tetra's in my 55 gallons along with some Dalmation Mollies, 4 female dark blue (almost purple) Bettas, Spotted Cory Cats and a Bristlenose Pleco. The Diamonds are one of the larger Tetras and look really sparkly in the tank. Good luck with your decisions.
