has anyone here ever seen or built a canopy for a 30 gal hex tank? i picked up a 30gal oceanic tank at petco when they were $1 per gal. the stand however was $150.00, so i built my own, not hex but square. it came with a glass cover and light, only 15 watts. i figure that with a full canopy i can add more wattage. any thoughts or ideas?

Why not take the time to build a hex stand? Build a frame with six uprights, brace them, then cover it all in plywood. To do the corners, set your saw at 60 degrees.

Miter corners for a Hex would be at 30 degrees.

Oh yeah, half of 60 is 30 isn't it...

I got as far as 360/6. The angles are 60 degrees but two corners have to add up to that 60 degrees. Hmmm....
