View Full Version : Our new family member....leopard gecko
My daughter worked hard all week...raking the leaves in the yard. My husband told her that he would pay her 100$ if she did the whole yard (we have an acre and LOTS of leaves)
She was looking a bit overwhelmed today...but still trying hard to get the backyard done...no whining about it or even asking for help...so.....I took pity and decided to help her at least drag off the piles she managed to rake up.
Long story short.....she earned enough to go out and buy herself a gecko ! :D
Here he/she is

Wow, that really an awesome little animal! Speaking of which, how big is it?
My daughter says that as they get older thier black patches turn more to spots....she thinks. Sometimes they get pink patches on them. Adult size is 8 to 10 inches nose to tail. This one is about 4 inches. We don't know how old it is, only that it's young.
She picked out the largest and fatest one in there....he also was one of the prettiest. They must have had about 20-30 little babies in there....most had thier tails bit off :( and some just looked pale and sad. This one looked the healthiest (probably because he was the one biting everyone else's tail off !)
Hope all goes well with this guy...he's gorgeous !
