Im really worried now. The male just beat up on the female a LOT. She is all ripped up and breathing heavily. What should I do? I am worried that If I take her out, the male will eat the fry. But If I move them both, he might kill her. If I dont do anything, Im afraid of both of these fates . PLease, somebody reply i need help fast!

why dont you try removing the male and leaving the female and fry., if you hav a 10 and 20 laying around you can move the fry to the 10 and the male to the 20. if not there is not much you can do if you leave the female with the males then she might eat the fry but i doubt it, since he is the womanizing b@$tard you should lock him up.

also to help your female put in some melafix and stress coat. this wont harm any of your fish regardless.

also she dosnt look bad i dont se any scaled missing or bitten fins.

actually the MALE has one missing scale, the female's mouth is bitten, and her tail is really ripped up ( it is clamped up in this pic so you dont really notice).
She is kinda pale and swimming a bit akwardly. But I moved them into another tank containing one small ( 1- 1.5 in) firemouth which im hoping they will take there aggression out on. But now I atleast know the babies are safe.

How about a tank divider, or cut a piece of lighting eggcrate to fence the male away from the female & fry? It's probably better to have them in some sort of contact with each other- then re-introduction should be easier.

Maybe the next spawning attempts will work out better if they don't kill each other first!
