Well this is the start of my 45gal Tall. Two small cory cats and 4 2.5" goldfish(soon to be relocated).
Right now there is about 18lbs of Limestone and 50lbs of regular gravel/substrate. I have a UGF with a 360gph powerhead. one small biowheel only for a few days untill I pick up a Canister. Im going to add about 20lbs more of limestone & slate.

Limestone will raise pH, unless you are starting with a pretty high pH. Corys come from lower pH water. Are you planning on doing african rift lake cichlids?

well the rock has been in the tank for about 9 hours and the PH has actually went from 7.2 to 6.8 other then that what do you guys & gals think of my first FW tank

I have a question why is the filter on the side of the tank?

cause i have my tank about 1" from the wall. I ordered a Canister filter, so that filter is just there to pick up whatever it can.....

Ok today i added 20lbs more of rock and Two yellow Zebra Cichlids. That totals me to two Cichlids, 4 goldfish and two cory cats. Everything is great so far.... let me know what you think. sorry for the bad pic, cheap camera
