Ok ya'll. I lost a marble goby last night and I'm worried about the reason for it's death. I have one more and I do not want to lose it. Anyway, the little guys spine was messed up, I don't know if it had hit the glass real hard or what, but someone on a different forum said it could be whirling disease which scares me for the sake of my remaining marble goby. How do I tell if it was whirling or just a freak accident?? Here are some pics..

IME, the "whirling disease" affects fish at ramdom, because i have had mollies that have had it. in my case, the dominant male of the tank got it. he was the biggest of them all and noone picked on him at all. one day, out of nowhere, he just started spinning while he was swimming and then he went belly up. none of the other mollies got it.

so THAT'S whirling disease?!?!?

MAN! No wonder my other neon (long ago) kept spinning like he can't control himself... then he got stuck on the filter and died :(
