I am upgrading my saltwater tank and decided to use one of the old lights from that tank on my freshwater tank. The tank is a 30 gallon long with mollies and platies. There is one angel in it but when he dies it will be live bearing all the way. Would a 96 watt 50/50 PC be too much light?

Unless the tank is planted with Co2, I do believe you will start your very own algae farm with that much light.
