Hello all, Does anyone have a recommendation for some good, fattening growth food? I have a Jag that I'd like to fatten up and grow quickly.

The brand is called "variety"..hehe....buy high quaility flake and or pellets, and supplement with freeze-dried, cultured and frozen foods as well. With cichlid fry, I feed often (2-4 times a day) with heavy filtration and lots of big water changes....you can kick up the heat a little too, but not too much. I personally like adding freeze-dried krill for conditioning adults to breed or ground up to feed fry.

Water changes aren't a problem. I change my water weekly. Currently, I feed Hikari gold, beefheart, bloodworms, brine shrimp and vegetables

Hikari Bio-gold+, New Life Spectrum, 75% weekly water changes, massive filtration, and 82F. Don't rush it, just provide the best conditions and see how well it does.

I have a Jag also and feed him Dry krill, and Hikari Biogold pellets he is growing fast! Water changes and good filtration along with tlc is all you need.

Never tried it, but it could work.

food labeled 'grow' is simply a more expensive regular food. there's no magic food that'll make your cichlids grow faster or bigger than they are genetically programmed for. a quality, varied diet and clean water is the only method. and it's not expensive.
