Hi,

I got 1 for my 20 gallon tank today because they look really cool! He's in there by himself for now with a whole bunch of plastic plants and a couple of little plastic caves. I don't know much about them except that they stay fairly small are a kind of aggressive. So any info would be extremely helpful! Also what kind of tankmates if any can live with it?

Hi,

I think that is a Jewel Cichlid. I don't know much about them, but like you said they can be aggressive.

Oops, I mentioned in my "general freshwater" thread but forgot to mention here that I do know that it is a jewel cichlid. Sorry about that.
 
i had a jewel in with some mbunas he wasnt very aggresive but did hold his own though i think a 20 is a little small 29 or 30 is a little better . Ive been told they could be put in with larger cichlids such as oscars but never tried hid most of the time but beatiful fish
