Today I needed some airline tubing so I could add another bottle to my DIY CO2, so for some reason I decided to go to the LFS I don't normally go to because its kinda hard to get to from my place. So I get there and they are having a sale on all fish where you buy 1 and get another of the same value for a penny. So I got 2 gold rams for $6.99! Just 1 problem though, all they had was males. So that's where my question lies. Is it at all possible to keep 2 male rams together in a 20 gallon tank? If not I guess I could take 1 back, I would lose my deal though.

how much structure do you have in this tank?
essentially you can but if a fight breaks out the less dominant fish may need a hiding place.

It depends upon the fish--I am having a hard time keeping two male rams in a 55g that is heavily planted with LOTS of hiding places.

if you create a curtain of plants you may be able to house the rams..I have male bolivians in a 20 and they are fine...but one does need to retreat from time to time..the other doesn't pursue him.

but you will need to watch them..

OK now that they are finally in the tank after 4 hours of acclimation, looking at them more carefully I think 1 may be female. I'm not sure though because these are my first rams. I kindof know what to look for, but I only have words written online to go by. If anybody can post some pictures of male and female gold rams to help me know what to look for I would greatly appreciate it.
