what does this mean?

Here is the situation:

55 gallon tank
heavily planted
lots of community fish and angels
I have this beatiful barb- nice long fins/ nice colours. I went to feed that tank today and he was swimming randomly, he is gone completly pale and both his eyes are gone. Whats going on? I took him out and treated the tank. What should i do?

wow...sorry to hear that..sounds like one of his tank mates made a meal out of his eyes...as much as I hate to say this, he is doomed...go ahead and put him out of his misery now, or he'll surely die of starvation even if he somehow resists a bacterial infection or stress related illness from this.

what type of cummunity fish??? Also you could try to get a seperate tank for the barb if it survives in a bear bottom tank. I read another post similiar but with African Cichlids and there still capable of living but they become bottom feeders since they cant find the food anywhere else for obvious reasons. HTH.
