I have a rio 50 attached to my co2 reactor. I can not find a pre-filter for this size water pump. Does anyone know of a diy I can do? Thank you.

I'm a big fan of just using sponges. Easily cut to size, easy to clean, just put a few deep slits in on side and slide over the intake. Works for all the pumps and powerheads I've used.

I only it could be that simple. I don't think that will work.
It one of those square head pumps with the slits for intake,
If I tied the sponge over the intake? I wonder if that would work?

Ahhh, I see the problem. In that case, get some of the poly fill, like is used in Whisper filters. Cover the intake with that. It won't be as easy to clean as a sponge, but it will certainly work.
