hello,
i have a keyhole cichlid in my community tank of mostly tetras. my question is-- is it better to keep him by himself or get other keyholes? it's a 55 gallon .all parameters are good. thanks, -jeff :)

Just so you know they get to be 4" or bigger and will eventually eat your tetras

I would get a total of 3 to 5, if there's room for them in the tank. They are sweet fish, but like almost any fish they will eat what will fit in their mouths. They appreciate some cover to swim around. Even though they don't have wild colors, their markings change according to their moods and they are interesting fish to watch. They spawn on flat rocks, if I remember rightly.
