Ok here's a bacteria growing question :)

Is there anything I can do that will give me some bacteria that I can grow without setting or getting the tank out yet.
I have my gravel I understand though that if it gets moved the bacteria doesn't really keep? I have fish food and I have the Penguin bio filter.
I am going to be setting up a 20 gallon tank eventually.

you could do a fishless cycle in a small clean bucket as long as you can hang your filter on it. maybe get a small 10g plastic tub and use that. then when you set up the tank, you can move the filter onto it. just keep the bucket filled with dechlorinated water in a warm place, and "feed" it with fish food daily.
