salt and not conditioner?!?!

first, there could be chloramines in the tap water, and salt does not get rid of it like the conditioner does. it doesnt get rid of chlorine too.
second, there is NO reason to add salt to freshwater tanks, unless you are treating a disease... there is a reason it is FRESHwater.
i would tell them to stop now before all of their fish are dead from high salt content in the water, high chlorine, high chloramines, ammoina, or nitrite.

Hi,

I agree with jm1212. By the way, what friend are you talking about?

Cory Lover

I think hes talking about himself  :D

I always found the term "fresh"water to be sort of odd. I mean just because water doesn't have salt in it that doesn't mean it is fresh. It can be really a stagnant gross pool of filth. :joke:

and there could also be other 'salts' in the water, not NaCL.
