So I have (4) 65w CF light over my tank. Two of these lights are now very dim, are they burnt out( I know sounds kinda stupid..)?? It's been like 7-8 months and I did add the lights at different times, so I was wondering if this is normal for these kind of lights. I basically wanted to know if this is normal for them to just go dim and not just burn out totally, I don't want to start taking out bulbs and testing things out if I don't have to...
Thanks for the input, I'm totally clueless on this one, I know it's kinda a stupid question too, but are the dim bulbs burnt out?

are they all the same color rating? 6700k won't appear as bright as 10,000k for example, they will be more yellowish...

If they're dimmer than they were before, then they're burning out.

Yep and since they are bruning out they stoped being the best bulb for your plants. You may not have noticed it but your plants are now growing slower than they were when you first put the lights on the tank.

When you buy new bulbs keep an eye on your plants and you will see that they will grow faster than they are now.

Yep the plants have slowed down for sure!!
All bulbs are 6,700k.

Thanks for the heads up, is this an average life span...7-8 months???

You can go up to a year. I mean technically the bulbs can last for several years but the spectrum from the phosphors starts changing and it becomes less effective at growing plants.
