No way. The smallest species of any kind of bichir I know of grows to about a foot long-WAAAAAY to large for a 25g.

Hi,
You know what I'm gonna say, Cories, Cories, and more Cories! So maybe a nice shoal of five Three-Striped Cories. A school of eight Neons. And for the center piece fish a Ram or Dwarf Gourami.

i was kind of hoping for some kind of single big predatory fish, possibly a sngle specimen.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think a large predatory fish will be suited by that small of a tank.
What about some African Cichlids?

Maybe a single Green Terror.

african cichlids would be pretty cool, but by large predatory fish i mean something like 6-8inches. another possibility is a biotype, but im getting tired of a planted south american bio, maybe something like african or cebtral american?

you could go brackish with a figure 8 puffer.

your tank would look great with a group of pearl gouramis for the middle, a school of hatchets for the top, and a nice group of a species of corydoras or smaller loaches of your choice OR you could have a trio flagtail catfish; IF you can find some

Six to eight inches is still too large for a 25g. I'd say that a 55g is the absolute minimum for something that size.
