I am looking for some information if anyone has these fish. Have surfed the internet and found conflicting information. Are these Barbs as nippy as Tiger Barbs? How big do they get? I saw everything from 2.5-6 inches. The current fish that they would possibly go with include Diamond Tetras, Spotted Cories, Female Bettas, Mollies and a Bristlenose Pleco. I do have MTS and these fish might not stay together depending on the how big a house we buy.....

What size tank are these going into?

They tend not to be as nippy as the tigers, in my experience. They are fairly fast moving, as well.

I've got about 9 of them with a bunch of diamond tetras. One did jump out through a 1/2" gap, so keep the tank well covered.

I have the normal fin variety, and I've gotten a bunch of fry from them. I would say that 3-1/2 to 4" long would be a "normal" size for large ones. With mine, the males have stayed in breeding colors since they first spawned. Intense red with metallic green above. The sort of colors you don't believe when you see a photo. They are always zooming around the tank at high speed. Mine also seem to uproot and eat some plants and they are always hungry.

If you're looking for a smaller colorful barb, check out checkerboards. Once they settle in they are really beautiful and they top out at about 2". They don't seem to dash around as much.

Thanks a bunch. Glad to see someone else with Diamonds - they are my favorite and I saw these Rosy's and thought they would go well together. I like the size too.
