I bought some Tiger Lillie bulbs off of craigslist. I basically just threw them in my tank. They weren't budding till recently. There's white stems coming out now. I don't know which way is up on these buds though. Is it trying to root or is it reaching for the surface. Tiger lillies bud once they reach the water surface, right?
I won't have pics till Thursday but I'll make sure to get some.

Tiger Lilies aren't an aquatic plant.

You will know which way is up and down soon enough, once you ave some leaves you can plant the bulb.

I spotted some green on the tips today! :) I know which way is up now.
I don't think that they're tiger lillies or lotus. I'll see soon enough.
If the bulbs are about the size of a green olive and mostly smooth, then they would be a dwarf lily. If they are smaller than that and sort of hairy looking, then they might be aponogetons.

In my experience with plant bulbs, they get the "right-side-up" bit all on their own.
